Dwayne Wade will release his new book: “Father First”

Two time NBA champ and Miami Heat star, Dwayne Wade shares his personal triumph and tribulations in his upcoming  memoir, A Father First: How My Life Became Bigger Than Basketball.

The father of two sons, Zaire & Zion, Wades book will be released on September 4, 2012 but it’s available for pre-order now at Amazon.

Although this book gives us insight into the mentors, coaches, and teammates who helped play a vital role in Dwayne Wade’s development as a star athlete, it also serves as a call-to-action to all parents to step up and be a part of their children’s lives.

Unbelieveable!!! I know some brothers who could use this book.

I know them other deadtbeat ball players are made as hell he made that statement about them being apart of their children’s lives. Good look Mr. Wade. :)

  3. I think DWade is setting a great example to these fathers who are not in their kids lives and think child support is enough! I hope they support his book to hear what he has to add.

  4. IF I HAD KIDS IT WOULD BE MY JOB TO TAKE CARE OF THEM.

I MEAN, HE DA DADDY OF THEM BOYS RIGHT? WHATS SO SPECIAL ABOUT WHAT HE DOIN?

  5. go head dwade got custody of ya boys now writing books on how you take responsibility. make that money nigga i ain’t mad at cha.

doesn’t matter truth is, he have em.

  8. wonder if he mentions how his ex–wife’s family helped him? You didn’t get there by yourself negroe? That situation grromed ya ass too. He ain’t milkin me for my dollars. NOT!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  9. It’s chilli as a monfucker up n here for Dwade. SHIIID my ass need a coat the comments so fuckin cold up in diss tip.

  10. Kudos to DWade. there are a million books on motherhood so I see nothing wrong with him writing his. Society are quick to down and dog BLACK absentee fathers so it’s nice to see a different aspect.

  11. I’ll pass cause he didn’t have to fight for a damn thing. He has the power and the resources and that’s the only reason WHY he was granted primary custody because he is in fact Dwayne Wade. He better know and understand that all things are in divine order and no money or power can change that.

  12. What did Angela Bassett tell Lawrence Fishburne in “Boys N the hood” “You only doin what every woman responsibility is once they become a mother – what makes you so damn special”</em ;)

  13. something positive from a black man. good! it’s about time. and remember people: ain’t nobody perfect.

  14. Just awarded custody and already he talkin bout being a father first. he takin his situation all the way to the bank. wonder if he mentions his 1st wife and her fam.

  15. Some of y’all need to cutt the brotha a break. Just because his ex-wife and her family helped him didn’t guarantee he’d be with her for life. they are no longer 2gether so what is he suppose to do give them his blood, put them on his payroll. when people help you, God uses them to do just that but that doesn’t mean they should ride ya back for life or the entirety of your success. i mean really.

Good for Dwayne Wade, i pray he continue to rise above the negativity and provide his sons a happy home and positive surrounding.

Cosign!!!! some people act like they related to his ex-wife n shit. or like he owe her.

  16. I like this. I think it’s very positive to see him speak on his rise as a basketball player a 2 time nba champion none the less plus be the father with 2 boys he’s raising full time. Excellent!!!!!!!!!!! those kids look happy in that picture.

Okay @Bobby, doesn’t sound too interesting.

  17. I think it’s great that fathers are stepping up the plate and taking charge in their childrens lives. Kudos to DWade

  18. Deion, Gabriel, Dwayne and even Usher. Thank God, there’s Men who fight for their children.

And for those guys who try but can’t be with yours because of their triflin’ mommas using the child as a weapon or a pawn, do better next time.

  19. For all you CEO’ers posting about and encouraging Black men to take custody away from Black women here’s some food for thought:
Why not encourage Black men to marry our Black women and be fathers to their children, follow The Most High and restore our communities???

    Mm Hmmmmm…..thought so…….*sips tea*

Good Point!!! and I COSIGN!!!!! But black women have to demand more and stop settling for subpar bullshit and LESS than they deserve from men and when they do that then their man will do right by them..

  20. I like the book’s title because it’s like now that he has custody of his sons he’s a ‘father first’ b4 anything else.

    Congrats to him.

  21. Dayum.
From most of these comments sounds like summa y’all hate DWade’s ass. And sumething tells me it’s not because he wrote this book or about the book’s title either. SMH
